With so many things to keep tabs on at Uni, you need to be able to manage your life on the move.
There are literally millions of apps that help student life, so we’ve done the hard work and put together our Top Apps for Students to help you enjoy everything you want and need during your time at Uni.
There’s a lot to think about in your time at University, and the last thing you want keeping you up at night is money. Most students are going to be thinking about how to make their student loan stretch the term. Luckily it's super easy to get on top, and as it should be one of your top priorities.
Monzo is one of our favourite online bank accounts. You can open a full UK bank account for free, straight on your phone. Our favourite feature is for those of you who would like to set a daily budget. Set a budget, and Monzo will tell you if you go over and how long you have left until payday.
You can also split bills with your friends, and keep an eye on your money when you’re on the go. And yes, if you’re wondering, you’ll get the iconic orangey pink debit card in the post.
Splitwise is an ideal budgeting app for students with flatmates. We love this app because it takes the awkwardness out of keeping on top of shared bills with your friends. Connect with friends, add bills for nights out, trips away, utilities, and when your best mate conveniently forgets their debit card on that fancy lunch out. Simply log the bill in the app and when you’re ready to settle up, you’ll see exactly how much everyone owes.
Chip automatically saves you money, with no effort at all. Chip monitors your spending, and analyses your money coming in and going out, and calculates how much you can afford to save each week. Once it’s decided how much you can afford to save, it puts that much of your money away in an account, safe for you to spend another day without even having to lift a finger!

Idealo saves you the pain of buying something, and then finding it cheaper elsewhere. It’s a price comparison app that helps you find the best prices online. Search for something you want, and see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere online. And if you’re not ready to make the buy just yet, you can set a Price Alert in the app, which pings you with any price drops or when discounts become available.

A Student Railcard saves you 1/3 off train tickets, and generally pays itself off after one or two journeys! Save a third all year round, during both peak and off-peak times, and even save on First Class! Check out our deals on

The Too Good To Go app lets you buy tasty food at a reduced rate, that would have otherwise been thrown away.
